Abstract: Aiming at the problem of reasonable scale design of strip mining in thick coal seam mining area in Western China in order to maintain the stability of surface structure,With abundant coal mine 12 mining area as engineering background,Using a combination of theoretical analysis,engineering analogy and field measurement methods, from the surface to allow deformation and stability of coal pillar, the recovery rate of the three aspects, and puts forward the research building (structure) design method of multi factor reasonable scale of mining under buildings。The results show that:According to the theoretical calculation, the best mining width of the twelve mining face is 60m, and the best coal pillar width is 60m, The movement and deformation caused by the mining scheme are small, which can ensure the safe use of the surface and increase the recovery rate. The research results in the abundance of 12 coal mining area the success of the layout of the 10 working face, the strip mining rate changed from 37.5% to 50%, the research has certain reference significance and application value of coal mining under similar conditions.
